SignalChem Biotech Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented and proactive HR Specialist to join our team. The HR Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of human resources functions. This role involves supporting HR initiatives, maintaining compliance, and providing administrative and operational support to employees and management.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Proactively identify company HR needs and implement strategies, including developing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and align with organizational objectives.
- Coordinate recruitment efforts and lead onboarding processes, including creating training materials to support smooth employee integration.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and regulations, managing employee leave and attendance records.
- Oversee employee evaluations by developing and implementing performance review processes to support professional growth and organizational alignment.
- Manage HR correspondence, benefits administration, and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality while serving as a point of contact for employees.
- Spearhead employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture and high employee satisfaction.
- Manage offboarding processes, including terminations, exit interviews, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, with a focus on identifying organizational HR needs and implementing policies to address them in Canada, preferrably BC.
- Knowledge of BC labor laws and regulations, with demonstrated ability to develop and execute HR policies effectively.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Experience in the Life Sciences industry.
- HR Certification (e.g., CHRP or HRIS experience).
- Experience working with legal counsel on HR-related matters.
- Proven track record of aligning HR strategies with organizational goals.
