**Work Status**: Temporary Contract (6 Months)
**Location**: Winnipeg, MB (Onsite)
**About the Role**:
**You will contribute by**:

- Oversee the daily editorial agenda, placing an emphasis on producing original content.
- Determine daily editorial priorities for Global News in Winnipeg, driving the daily story meetings and assigning process.
- Work with other managers focused on TV, Radio and Online throughout the day to ensure all platforms are providing market leading content to their audience.
- Manage content requests for Winnipeg with other stations, the Network News Desk and the Global News Live stream
- Lead vetting in Winnipeg and work with the Executive Producer to ensure dynamic and engaging content is driving each daily Newscast.
- Monitor story development throughout the day and provide guidance to local reporters.
- Ensure integration between TV, Radio and online.
- Coordinate daily and future editorial plans.
- Assign and coordinate News teams during Breaking News
- Coordinate resources for all special projects and requests.
- Develop and maintain a high editorial standard that includes effective writing, editing, and storytelling.
- Supervise Digital Broadcast Journalists, Radio Anchors, Radio Reporters, Reporter Anchors, and Radio News Supervisor and oversee various operational requirements pertaining to performance, scheduling, and timesheets.
- Ensure proper training of new and current employees.
- Other duties as required.

**Skills and experience you bring**:

- Post-secondary education in broadcast journalism or a related field
- Minimum 5 years working in a local Newsroom.
- An extensive background in broadcast news with proven understanding of News law and ethics.
- An amazing attitude that will engage and motivate teams.
- Demonstrably strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- A record of creative storytelling with strong production skills
- Must be able to adapt under pressure and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to handle the demands and pressure of multiple, daily deadlines for online and broadcast.
- A valid driver’s license.
