**Winnipeg Lean Manager**

- Reporting to the Senior Manager Lean Manufacturing, you will be responsible for executing the strategic directives to ensure that there is an actionable road map directing the Lean Journey at Motor Coach Industries and New Flyer.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Helps incorporate Lean concepts from support departments (QA, Supply, Process Planning) to Manufacturing to better facilitate the business, our product, and bottom line.
- Determines which tools and methods will be employed and standardized across the facilities to assist New Flyer and MCI in their lean journeys.
- Collaborates with Plant Managers and other team members to gain consensus on Lean principles and strategies that will be employed.
- Assesses the current status of New Flyer and MCI to the basic Lean tenants, and develops improvement plans as required (e.g., 5S, waste elimination, total productive management, etc.).
- Develops cost savings metrics that can be reviewed regularly to gauge improvement in reducing waste across the facilities.
- Utilizes metrics across the organization to identify and drive improvements such as scrap, efficiency, and reworks.
- Determines which elements of the Manufacturing Foundation will be deployed and standardized across the facilitators developing a means to regularly gauge and report out on adaption and institutionalization.
- Organizes and provides recommendations on the yellow and green belt army and where to best expand these groups organizationally to drive continuous improvement.
- Conducts and organizes cross-functional plant tours, customized to meet the needs of the individuals visiting the plant to promote the improvement activities being undertaken by the facilities.

**WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**:

- Post-secondary education in a related discipline in operations management or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior production leadership position.
- Lean Greenbelt is required for this position, with blackbelt preferred.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, with effective interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, effectively prioritize and work efficiently in a high demanding fast-paced team-oriented environment.
- Up to 10% of travel is required for this position._
