Office Administrator/Scale Attendant (12-month Mat Leave Coverage)

As a family-owned company founded in 1971 in the scrap metal recycling industry, Amix has since expanded into a wide range of services, including marine salvage, marine projects, marine towing and barging, concrete sales and steel distribution. The Amix Group consists of six companies providing specialized and quality service. These companies include Amix Recycling, Amix Marine Projects, Amix Marine Services, Amix Marine Salvage, Western Concrete, and Amix Steel and Surplus.

The Scale Attendant will be responsible for weighing and measuring incoming and outgoing materials, as well as maintaining accurate records of all transactions. They will interact with customers, vendors, and truck drivers to ensure a smooth and efficient process. This role requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities
- Weigh and measure incoming and outgoing materials accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including weights, quantities, and other relevant information.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and truck drivers.
- Pay and issue receipts for materials received or disposed of.
- Operate and maintain scale equipment and other relevant tools and equipment.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Assist with inventory management as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others.
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately record data.
- Strong math skills required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
