We are a growing electrical contracting company specializing in construction and service work. We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Buyer to play a vital role in our procurement operations by buying products and supporting fleet, tool, and facility management.
This position is ideal for an individual who is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with vendors and internal teams, and is highly attentive to detail.

Role and Responsibilities
**Procurement & Logistics**:

- Research, source, and procure electrical materials and equipment required for projects and service work
- Build of strong relationships with vendors, negotiate pricing, and secure favourable terms and conditions as needed
- Ensure materials meet specified quality standards and comply with applicable industry regulations and codes
- Manage delivery schedules, track orders, and proactively communicate updates to internal teams
- Monitor material costs and identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality or timelines
- Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, vendor performance, and procurement analytics
- Assist with receiving materials, reconciling packing slips, and processing returns as needed.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and ensure materials are stocked efficiently.
- Support accounts payable by resolving invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
- Assist in developing and refining procurement policies and best practices.
Fleet & Tool Management
- Administrative aspects of fleet management, including license renewals, vehicle maintenance tracking, etc.
- Maintain accurate vehicle records and assist with scheduling maintenance or repairs
- Support tool tracking and management, ensuring that equipment is accounted for and maintained properly
Administrative & Operational Support
- Assist with document management, including purchase agreements, vehicle records, and SOPs
- Maintain procurement reporting and track key performance metrics
- Support scheduling and coordination of procurement-related meetings
- Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and leadership to ensure efficient workflow
- Perform other duties as required to support the success of the organization
- Enter and maintain data, including inventory information on various software/programs/databases
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations
- Participate in the cycle count program and other inventory management tasks
- Collaborate with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies
- Assist with receiving as required
- Reconcile packing slips to orders received and actively follow up on backorders
- Process and monitor returns of material
- Professionally represent Kraun and demonstrate SPARK values consistently
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- A college diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are advantageous
- At least one year of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
- Valid Ontario driver's license and able to provide an acceptable driver's abstract

- Proficiency in procurement software, inventory management systems, and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize material costs and logistics
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams
- Understanding of supply chain processes and logistics best practices
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs without assistance when required
Working Environment & Physical Demands
- Primarily office-based with occasional work in a warehouse setting (e.g., inventory counts, receiving a delivery)
- Routine use of computers and office equipment
- Intense concentration for extended periods to ensure accuracy and efficiency
