**Job Description
- Career Development Coordinator**

**Summary**

VIVRS is looking for a Career Development Coordinator to work on our new SKILL-IN program, which will provide Skills Training and Employment Supports to individuals who experience multiple barriers to employment. SKILL-IN is a one-on-one, in-person, virtual or hybrid program with flexible access to short-term occupational skills training (not longer than 12 months) or paid work experience (no longer than 24 hours), employment services, including pre-employment, and wraparound support for those facing barriers to employment. Persons with diverse abilities, survivors of violence or abuse, or newcomers lacking Canadian experience or skills will have access to paid Skills for Success skills training and flexible employment support to enter or re-enter the workforce.

**Role Responsibilities**

**Employment Assistance**
- Working with individuals facing multiple barriers to employment and from diverse backgrounds
- Developing an Individualized Training Plan (ITP) that identifies training and employment needs; steps, timelines and milestones to obtain sustainable employment
- Able to offer comprehensive employment supports including Pre-Employment, Job Search and Post Employment support

**Skills Training**
- Designing and delivering Soft Skills and Skills for Success Training
- Advising and providing support toward Participant choosing and accessing Skills Enhancement interventions; including Essential Skills Training, Occupational Skills Training or On-the-job Training
- Providing support and following up to ensure participants successfully complete training interventions

**Job Development**
- Providing individualized marketing efforts on behalf of participants by arranging meetings, interviews with employers and negotiating employment and/or work experience placements
- Meeting with employers to provide information in regard to available supports for participants
- Providing on-the-job support in the form of job coaching to ensure participant is supported to learn and perform all the duties of the job independently
- Maintaining employment partnerships and developing new ones
- Attaining monthly placement team targets

**Financial Support and Documentation**
- Assessing participants financial needs to support the achievement of every step under Participant ITP and monitor financial supports
- Documenting client progress with high-level of accuracy to comply with contract needs and policy

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in relevant field; e.g. career development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, human services, education, and/or Indigenous Studies
- Knowledge or demonstrated experience understanding historical and existing barriers to Indigenous people

**Other requirements**
- Working towards or holding professional designation such as CCDP, RRP, etc. will be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work toward Outcome targets and meeting strict deadlines
- Knowledge of Labour Market and local trends
- Criminal Record Check (vulnerable populations)
- Driver’s license and own transportation

This is 4-5 days (negotiable) in-office position that requires some flexibility to attain client employment demands.

Pay: $28.00-$29.00 per hour
