Proposal & Marketing Coordinator

Bird Construction Company is one of the top 10 Construction General Contractors in Canada. We are seeking a Proposal & Marketing Coordinator for our Halifax office.

The Proposal & Marketing Coordinator will use their expertise in writing, editing and publishing to support the development and production of business proposals as well as reports, presentations, and other marketing materials while supporting team members in their tasks in a deadline driven environment.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Support business development and estimating teams in the creation and submission of high-quality content to clients - build response templates, compile relevant content, create interview and presentation materials and coordinate print production of response materials in accordance with bid requirements.
- Collect the necessary information to develop a proposal with various collaborators and stakeholders throughout the process until final submission.
Assist in creating, maintaining and updating proposal content, including professional resumes, project profiles and company project experience in CRM database.
- Compile, write, edit, and proofread document material to ensure quality, accuracy, clarity and consistency with Company guidelines while contributing expertise in creative writing and design.
- Establish priorities and target dates in order to meet non-negotiable project deadlines.
- Participate in strategic discussions to determine the best approach and winning strategy for pursuits.
- Support marketing and communications activities, including content creation for internal and external audiences (newsletters, brochures, presentations, handouts, and other collateral) and event planning and coordination.
- Aid in posting project updates, profiles, text, images on the District SharePoint News page.
- Assist in creating social media content (LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
- Support corporate marketing and communications initiatives as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in communications, publishing, marketing, journalism (related education or equivalent experience will be considered).
- 1-5 years demonstrated experience in a relevant field such as professional writing, technical writing, journalism, proposal writing, creative design, or marketing.
- Ability to clarify and write technical content and prepare marketing materials.
- Experience working with an engineering or construction firm is considered an asset.
- Excellent writing skills (including editing, grammar, style, spelling punctuation), editing, and proofreading skills for accuracy, quality, and messaging tailored to target audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically, Adobe InDesign with proven ability to learn new software programs quickly.
- Print design experience using Adobe InDesign, as well as Illustrator and Photoshop, considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of professionals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deal with changing priorities.
- Excellent time management & organizational skills and be able to adapt to change.
- Excellent interpersonal relations, with ability to gain trust and respect of others and build relationships.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Creative, strategic, forward-thinking mindset.
- Experience with a CRM system, Microsoft SharePoint or similar document management system is considered an asset.
- Ability to calmly work under pressure, in a team and deadline driven environment.
