**General Summary**

Developing, maintaining, analyzing, planning and coordinating of raw materials & packaging materials, as well as general supplies for two production facilities by working closely with the suppliers, production, QA, R&D, warehouse, procurement, demand planning and other departments.

**Duties and Responsibilities - Essential Functions**
- Plan and maintain raw material and packaging inventory levels for two plants by ensuring that proper quantities are ordered on a timely basis.
- Review system to determine requirements on all packaging and raw materials, and release planned orders to purchasing.
- Expedite open purchase orders with suppliers as required due to demand changes where items are required sooner than confirmed delivery dates.
- Analyze excess and obsolete inventory and arrange disposal where required.
- Meet with marketing and demand management weekly to review forecasts and production plans.
- Work closely with both plants on a daily basis to address shortages and other issues. Make changes based on latest information.
- Work with purchasing on material supply requirements for short and long term. Identify risk and develop mitigation plans.
- Source new supply points and work with purchasing and R&D.
- Purchase and manage inventory on all supplies relating to janitorial, safety, packing supplies, stationary products, QA, warehouse and computer supplies for two plants through order requisitions.
- Prepare transportation requests for all supplier pickups and coordinate pickups with carriers.
- Send RFQ's and source vendors for projects, annual employee events and other needs.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Concord Confections Food Safety and Quality Policy and Programs to ensure compliance with Regulatory Requirements, HACCP, GMPs, SQF and Customer specifications.
- Responsible to report safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Responsible to monitor quality, GMP, HACCP, Food Security, Food Safety and Legality practices in manufacturing, process and warehousing according to stated policies, procedures and objectives for the sites.
- Responsible for planning and executing material purchases that support production requirements.
- Provides information and support needed for raw material goods, packaging and sanitation chemicals, ensuring supplier is compliant to Concord Confections food safety and quality expectations.
- Purchase ingredient and packaging materials from approved Suppliers. Ensure purchase orders comply with applicable specifications.
- Land and / or support projects, initiatives and tasks, within and / or outside department as required.
- Analyze material usage and report variances in a timely manner.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities resulting in better materials flows and inventory levels.
- Follow-up on expected deliveries.
- Ensure effective and timely communication with stake holders.
- Work closely with production and warehouse teams and understand processes, material and supply requirements, production floor counts and conduct audits of inventory counts and routines.
- Be trained and act as a back up to Planning Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications for Consideration**:

- Post secondary education in Business, Engineering, Logistics or related field.
- Materials planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel.
- Experience with planning software and tools.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
