Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, the Quality Assurance Manager will have the responsibility of the Quality Management System (QMS), for providing control of quality to ensure customer satisfaction, the cost of poor quality are measured, reported, improved and maintained at competitive levels and as required by Health Canada.

The Quality Assurance Manager will bring to this role a strong belief in quality control and lean manufacturing practices to deliver the highest quality products to the FYidoctors clinics and patients.

**_ Key Responsibilities:_**

The position has the responsibility to coordinate and ensure adherence to all Quality Management System activities in a coordinated effort with the other members of the Delta lab operational team including:

- Work with other managers to install and maintain an effective Quality Management System, to ensure pro-active visibility into quality issues
- Support in onboarding, testing and sign off of new products, materials and equipment to ensure they meet expected quality requirements before moving to production
- Ownership of LMS (lab management system) updates, testing and review to ensure quality standards are met or exceeded post deployment
- Define and ensure production, testing, and inspection checkpoints are in place, followed, audited, and updated regularly
- Manage, maintain, and oversee all inspection processes and schedules as they relate to quality in the lab and provide regular feedback to management team
- Provide quality management metrics including an ongoing COPQ measurement and the development of a quality management data base for systematic and dynamic reporting and measurement requirements
- Provide Quality Control reporting to senior management on a regular schedule (minimum quarterly) as defined in the QMS
- Undertake, arrange, and delegate quality audits both as reviews of defects at screens and spot audits across the process
- Provide a review and reduction of disposition gap through awareness building, training, and acceptance criteria documentation.
- Work with the lab leadership, skills team, and senior technicians to develop and deploy standard operation procedures (SOPs). Ensure that follow-up and compliance is occurring and support in highlighting retraining when needed
- Ownership of the CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Action) system to report and measure discrepancies and ensure all preventive and corrective actions are completed when CAPA’s are issued
- Work with and build relationships with suppliers, vendors and external partner to research needed quality solutions or future opportunities
- Has a passion for LEAN practices, continuous improvement and automation, and willingness to engage, teach and train
- As a part of the Delta lab leadership team, participate and help create an engaged culture that is built on trust, accountability, results, and patient focus
- Some flexibility to work a range of hours depending on the needed task
- Enjoys working on the shop floor daily and engaging with team members
- Mentor and grow direct reports in both the quality and skills departments building succession in the role

- Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across departments in a matrix organization
- Ability to work across the organization gaining the trust peer leaders and lab technicians with authentic leadership and coaching, solid results and data driven decisions
- Enthusiastic champion of quality and lean manufacturing practises and a passion for continuous improvement
- Proven ability to implement process and quality improvements to deliver efficiency and value to the organization
- Ability to plan and organize working time and to multitask as required
- A willingness to listen and be open to new ideas to improve processes that impact quality
- Ability to manage daily details and deliver on larger projects, objectives and process improvements

**_Qualifications (Education, Experience and Training):_**
- A diploma or degree in a related field
- Experience in a manufacturing facility
- Experience with LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and Theory of Constraint practices
- Affiliation and accreditation with ASQ and other Quality Management accreditation
- Experience with ERP, LMS (lab management software) is beneficial
