Quality Assurance Supervisor

**Position Summary**
The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor works independently and coordinates essential Quality Assurance and maintenance functions. They will conduct compliance checks of paperwork to ensure they meet current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), HACCP, SQF, Kosher and Organic or any other certifications as directed management. Working with maintenance teams, the specialist will ensure all preventive maintenance is completed in accordance of the requirements for the certifications.
**Reporting Relationships**
- The QA supervisor reports to the Director of QA for Food4Change and interacts with other members of the leadership team and staff as required to carry out duties.
- This position provides regular and ongoing supervision, coaching, training and support of the QA technicians.
**Key Responsibilities**
Duties as described, included to but not limited to the following:
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all local, provincial, federal and international requirements;
- Providing ongoing training and coaching to all staff, visitors and contractors as required;
- Encourage communication with QA team, QA manager, and other managers and team members throughout the organization
- Ensure the correct version of QA documentation/revisions are correct and up to date at all times.
- Be able to draft, edit, and write SOPs, forms, and supporting documentation
- Be able to review laboratory analysis and create Certificates of Analysis
- Maintain customer specifications and create internal policies to support them.
- Implement corrective actions when documented procedures have not been followed.
- Aid in conducting material reviews. Pull damaged or non-conforming product off the line;
- Retain maintenance and quality assurance records in accordance with the documented retention procedure;
- Conduct periodic Good Manufacturing Practices audits of entire plant with documented corrective actions;
- Conduct paperwork review to ensure compliance to standards set forth by Food4Change;
- Have the authority to approve or reject raw materials, Packing materials, labeling and finished products based upon conforming to established specifications;.
- Incorporate and/or develop new procedures as needed/requested
- Openly communicates with co-workers and ensures all hazards regarding food safety is addressed and communicated for prevention;
- Adhere to the GMP, SQF and HACCP written programs;
- Follows and complies with all company health and safety rules & Provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Follows and complies with all SQF/HACCP/GMP (Food Safety) protocols, policies and procedures.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Completion of post secondary education specializing in food technology, food science, or a similar field;
- SQF/BRC/HACCP knowledge;
- Fluency in the English language (both orally and in writing);
- Previous experience in a food or supplement manufacturing facility;
- Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership role;
- Proficient with computer programs (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides and MS Office)
- Current HACCP, SQF, Food Safe Certificate and WHMIS 2015 are considered an asset;
**Working Conditions**
- Requires high level of concentration, mental focus and attention to details;
- Requires physical fitness and mobility in the plant environment;
- May require overtime on occasion;
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs may be required at times;
- A tolerance to work in various temperatures (heat/cold).
- Position includes travel to other locations for training and skills upgrading as required.
Shift Time: Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00-$77,500.00 per year
