Coquitlam Animal Hospital is a reputable veterinary clinic dedicated to delivering compassionate and top-quality care to pets. We are currently seeking a devoted and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant to join our team and contribute to our mission of promoting animal well-being and strengthening connections between pets and their owners.

**Position Overview**:
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our DVMs and RVT's and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. You will also play a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our veterinary hospital while ensuring the well-being of in-hospital patients and boarders.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain organized and thorough medical records for hospitalized patients.
- Collaborate seamlessly with Veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs).
- Consult with RVTs or Technician Assistants regarding the care of in-hospital patients and boarders, including medication schedules, feedings, and special instructions.
- Oversee general stocking procedures and maintain clinic cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Handle and restrain pets compassionately as required.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed.
- Assist in laboratory and diagnostic procedures when necessary, contributing to the efficiency of the healthcare team.
- Cultivate positive client relationships through effective communication and exceptional customer service.

**Qualifications**:

- Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred.
- A strong passion for animal welfare and care.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach toward animals and their owners.
- Flexibility to work weekends as required.

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
