KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER
The Account Manager is responsible for a large complex account and/or a group of key accounts. They will have operational, relationship and P&L accountability for their account(s). You will develop and maintain DSV Air & Sea services to existing clients while collaborating with all divisions Nationally and Globally to ensure profitable return for the company in accordance with company procedures, operational procedures and statutory requirements. You will provide superior customer service and achieving service and savings goals.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage and grow profitability with existing (National & Global) Key Accounts
- Arrange regular external meetings with clients, create / update the SOP and or contract with the customer to ensure the operation / billing/ reporting / KPI / Business Review’s under a higher quality.
- Arrange regular internal meetings with teams, operations departments / finance department / legal / PriceDesk, create / update and manage the IOP to ensure the rate review, operational procedure review, payment review, question review timely. Ensure the requirements from the customers are implemented.
- Final checking all reports / KPI & financial figures (including analysis / optimization) before sending to the clients / overseas HQ / department head / line managers.
- Preparation and presentation of MBR's, QBR's (quarterly business reviews) to the customer
- Identify customer decision-making / organisational layers and build and maintain strategic relationships acting as the key interface to the customer
- Understand the customers’ business and ensure communication lines are in place to service their requirements across all parts of our business
- Have a clear understanding of the Customers Logistics and Supply Chain Strategy and develop a supporting Key Account Plan / Strategy across all business units
- Implement our business strategies for the Customers in the assigned portfolio that anticipate and translate future market trends into business growth
- Work to provide Continuous Improvement solutions for the customer that are unique, customised and innovative with a focus on business retention, longer-term relationship growth and GP improvement
- Manage your key account portfolio assignment in alignment with our National / Global and Vertical management strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education And/or Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, a related field, or experience in lieu of education.
- A minimum of 3 years substantial relevant experience in Account Management, Sales management experience preferred.
- Business Development, Key Account Management and Customer Service.
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- General industry knowledge of common carrier contracts, freight payment and audit processes and supply chain engineering.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage and motivate all levels in the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of the customer base and system capabilities
- Strong work ethic and patience.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
