**HR Generalist - 12 Month Contract**
**Brampton, ON**

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for working with managers and employees to provide a full range of Human Resources services. By actively driving programs and processes in the areas of employee relations, training, talent and performance management, leadership development, and compensation, the HR Generalist will contribute significantly to the Victaulic’s business objectives.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Coach management in the areas of employee relations and performance management approaches and help to facilitate manager/employee discussions and resolutions while maintaining the appropriate balance between employee and management advocacy
- Provide consultation to management on effective Talent Management strategies to ensure that high potential employees are identified, developed, retained and promoted within the organization
- Provide support to management in the development of succession plans
- Help to facilitate the annual performance appraisal process and work with Managers on reviews, development plans and performance improvement plans as required
- Work with Managers and employees to identify training and development opportunities, source various internal or external training resources and complete follow up to ensure return on investment of all training
- Develop internal training resources, and roll out using internal training site (Victaulic University) or in person as required
- Maintain compliance with government programs and remittances as required
- Develop, maintain and update all company policies
- Proactively identify and recommend HR process improvements
- Ensure company compliance with all applicable employment and Human Rights legislation.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with Victaulic’s Code of Conduct.

**EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENT**:

- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Human Resources or Organization Development or equivalent. CHRP preferred.
- 2-3 years of Human Resources Generalist experience, ideally experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong, demonstrated knowledge in employee relations, employee performance and development
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in identifying training opportunities, developing and facilitating various training to employees at all levels
- A strong customer-focused orientation with a “we can help”, teamwork style
- Ability to build and foster effective customer relationships and utilize effective influencing strategies
- Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with the proven ability to juggle and reprioritize based on business demands and priorities. Demonstrated experience to work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective oral, written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to practice a high level of confidentiality and work with sensitive information
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. HRIS experience preferred
