**Position Summary**

A Dispatcher is responsible for the coordination of the utilization of drivers, trucks and containers to create capacity, maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers.

**Essential Responsibilities**
- Ensure maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding Company-established goals by successfully routing vehicles.
- Initiates outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site, resolving pick-up and other issues. Uses close loop communication process to inform internal and external customers of root cause and resolution.
- Proactively troubleshoots and resolves potential delivery and service issues before they result in service interruptions.
- Assign loads to drivers based on designated routes and driver location.
- Prepare, update and dispense the daily route schedule.
- Gather and maintain route sheet documentation for pick-ups (scheduled, missed, extra pick ups), route completions and driver locations.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
- Ensures route completion via the driver check-in process.
- Review completed paperwork from drivers each day; identify errors, missed information or missing paperwork and work with supervisors to collect needed information.

**Education and Experience**
- High School or GED required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1 year experience in related position
- Two years of prior experience in the transportation or logistics industries preferred
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Highly detail oriented and process driven; data entry and data manipulation will be central to the role
- Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient manner.
- Good communication skills; is able to communicate effectively orally and through written skills, both internally and externally.
- Grasps concepts quickly and has good follow through skills; adheres to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise; maintains a positive outlook.
