Experienced Asphalt Roller Operator

The Breakdown Roller Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt rollers. Operating the roller in successive passes, the Breakdown roller operator is responsible for ensuring proper compaction, as per job specifications.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate the roller and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Operate steel-wheeled, rubber tired, virbrator, segmented, or other type of roller to compact asphalt surfaces.
- Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Roller
- Operate heavy equipment and other construction duties as necessary.
**REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE**
- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within the road construction industry, 2 years’ experience operating roller.
- Demonstrate a proficient understanding of how to operate a Double Drum Roller.
- Knowledge of base construction methods, road construction materials, heavy equipment operation and industry requirements.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 kg on a regular basis.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Willing to work out of town and in remote locations, as required; willing to work overtime, as required
**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
**Salary**: $30.00 per hour
Additional pay:

- 10 hour shift
