**Your days will include**:

- Labour for Farms and Foods Divisions: Reporting and analyzing standard positions, payroll costs, overtime, and benefits
- Cost Analysis and Reporting: Conducting detailed cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Forecasting: Developing, managing, and monitoring forecasts related to labour expenses, production costs, and overhead
- Variance Analysis: Analyzing cost variances between actual and budgeted costs, identifying reasons for discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions
- Inventory Valuation: Overseeing and ensuring accurate valuation of inventory
- Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing improvements to the cost accounting processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost control
- Financial Statement Support: Assisting in preparing financial statements & Management reports by providing relevant cost information and supporting the finance team during month end
- Creating, documenting, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for all management reporting requirements and processes
- Special projects requested by management from time to time

**To succeed in this role, you need to possess**:

- Demonstrated analytical skills, variance analysis, problem solving
- Advanced computer skills with accounting, manufacturing and Microsoft software
- Must be accurate, possess superb attention to detail, be organized and able to deal with unexpected events, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- In-depth understanding of cost accounting methods and how they impact financial reporting and decision-making
- Ability to clearly communicate cost data and financial insights to non-financial team members, including executives and department heads, to guide decision-making
- Experience leading accounting staff, with skills in training, mentoring, and coordinating efforts to meet financial deadlines
- University Degree in Business or Accounting, plus CPA designation (or near completion), or equivalent work experience
