Quality Assurance Manager

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Manage the daily operations and maintenance of QMS.
- Maintains compliance with Federal and Provincial health and safety regulations.
- Leads SQF Audits & Develops Quality Assurance and Health & Safety policies.
- Ensure all Food Safety & Quality Control procedures are followed in addition to enforcement of SQF/GMP policies and compliance.
- Coordinates with maintenance team to help keep equipment in best operating condition.
- Ensures that safety policies and procedures stated in the farm’s safety program are followed by all personnel always.
- Trains and manage Sanitation personnel to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Inspects facilities and equipment prior to Pre-Op inspection to ensure cleanliness and an on-time start-up.
- Work with supervisors to train workers and ensure policies & procedures are followed during production, storing, shipping, raw material evaluations, sanitation and compliance with good manufacturing and distribution practices.
- Inspect, conduct physical tests on and evaluate raw material in accordance with measurement.
- Ensure adherence to sampling and testing programs to meet KPI metrics such as Quality specifications (key quality attributes such grades: defects sizing, weight, colour etc.)
- Ensure adherence and compliance with established Quality Assurance programs and policies thereby ensuring that all products meets the highest standards of quality and food safety
- Develop, enhance and maintain product quality, SOPs and SSOPs
- Continually monitor and improve the QMS as well as support the continuous improvement of operations and business systems
- Develop plans and implement actions to ensure the facility operates in conformity with statutory and regulatory expectations and maintain readiness for third party inspections and audits
- Ensure all record keeping is completed correctly and that Sanitation records are accurate.
- Analyze statistical data to determine trends and implement corrective actions as required
- Update Executive Management during weekly meetings on the performance of the QMS and/or product, processes and system risks
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or a related Agricultural field is required, with preference given to those with relevant Master’s Degree.
- Minimum 3-5 years in food safety and compliance program management required
- Experience in leading 3rd party/ external/ SQF Audits.
- Experience with GMP's, GAP’s, sanitation, process improvement, plant safety programs, and quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of CFIA/USDA/FDA standards for fruits and vegetables, as well other food sector’s would be an asset
- Advanced MS Office Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving, time management, and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and process improvement skills

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
