GN Thermoforming Equipment in Chester, Nova Scotia has an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Coordinator. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for the procurement of parts, raw materials, supplies, equipment, tools and services in a cost-effective and timely manner. Coordinates with Sales and Production Planning to maintain appropriate levels of inventory, in accordance with company replenishment policies. Employs product knowledge, purchasing and negotiating expertise to purchase goods and services at most favorable pricing while maintaining strategic relationships with suppliers. Conducts vendor evaluations regularly to ensure appropriate quality, cost and delivery experiences.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Completed post-secondary studies in business and/or equivalent work experience.
2. 3 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
3. Familiarity with mechanical and electrical parts of machines.
4. Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
5. Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing and contracting techniques and procedures.
6. Must be able to work in a schedule driven environment where timing is a critical function.
7. Strong customer service focus.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Highly flexible with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
10. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)
11. Familiarity with ERP system ie: Syspro would be an asset.
12. Willing to take purchasing related courses & training
