The Program Manager, MA Counselling Psychology (MA CPSY) in conjunction with the Program Director, oversees the coordination and administration of all CPSY related programming, manages the admissions process, and the day-to-day operations within the program.

Key Areas of Accountability
**Program Administration & Management**
- Work closely with the MA CPSY Program Director in program planning and development
- Review existing programs and liaise with the relevant University departments, community organizations and external stakeholders to ensure program objectives and curriculum development meet the current and future needs of the counselling profession in Canada.
- Monitor and maintain necessary institutional agreements in conjunction with clinical staff
- Conduct regular research on other graduate counselling and psychology programs in order to ensure relevance with the competition and maintain awareness of trends in the field as needed
- Organize and coordinate annual MA CPSY Advisory Committee meeting
- In conjunction with the MA CPSY Program Director, coordinate program accreditation and ensure necessary documentation and support is compiled and submitted in a timely and effective manner
- In collaboration with the Dean of FHSS and the Program Director, manage faculty, sessional, part-time and graduate teaching assistant contracts and workloads
- Provide consultation and direction to students seeking assistance and guidance regarding course planning, registration, and degree completion (grad audit) concerns
- Active member of the Research Team in assisting faculty and students with thesis-related processes, forms and defences; liaise with the Office of Graduate Studies on behalf of CPSY

**Finance & Budgeting**
- In collaboration with the Program Director, manage financial activities in the Department, including scholarship credit activity for core faculty
- Administer operating budgets and ensure compliance with University and/or agency policies and procedures
- Manage the internal financial system for project accounts and research grants

**Admissions Management**
- Answer program inquiries, complaints, and concerns from applicants
- Conduct admissions transcript and file reviews for applicants. Ensure admission processes are completed within the designated time frame
- Effectively communicate and provide positive and professional public relations with the community and prospective applicants to the program

**Program Systems Support**
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient program archives and data management
- Update and maintain program archives as needed

**Supervision**
- In consultation with the Program Director, plan, oversee and coordinate job descriptions for each service area
- Oversee interviewing, selecting, hiring, supervising, training, scheduling and orientation of new staff and student workers
- Coordinate the process for faculty recruitment and hiring in conjunction with the Provost’s Office

- Demonstrated skills in the areas of financial and human resources management, relationship-building, strategic planning, program and curriculum planning, and conflict resolution
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization, and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective collegial relationships. Comfortable working with a collaborative work style in a team environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of the curricular area and experience with related professional and industry associations
- Ability to maintain databases and university record-keeping systems
- A demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and sensitivity working with complex issues
