**Qualifications**:
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
- Must be a member in good standings with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
- CCFP preferred.
- ACLS and PALS required.
- C-Section Training
**Description**:
Family physician required to share a practice with experienced rural physicians.
The Swan River Valley Health Centre is a 52-bed acute care facility located in Swan River. There are 36 Acute Care beds and 16 Extended Treatment (Rehab): beds. Swan Valley Health Centre houses the following departments and services: Public Health, Mental Health, Home Care, Emergency, Diagnostics, Chemotherapy, Dialysis, Medical Records, Telehealth, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Materials Management, Spiritual Care, Auxiliary, Administration as well as itinerant endoscopy, oral and maxillofacial, and opthalmology surgical services.
Swan River Valley offers long term care at three facilities in the catchment area. Swan Valley Lodge - 70 beds, Swan River Valley Personal Care Home
- 45 beds and Benito Health Centre - 20 beds.
EMS services are available and STARS helicopter ambulance provides trauma transportation.
The Swan Valley Health Facilities’ catchment area includes the communities of Swan River, Minitonas, Birch River, Bowsman, Camperville, Cowan, Mafeking and Benito. It also includes the RM’s of Swan River and Minitonas; the LGD’s of Mountain North and Mountain South; the Sapotaweyak Cree Nation, Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation and Pine Creek First Nation; and the unorganized territories bordering these areas
