**Job Overview**

Food and Beverage servers are the face of Peake while on staffed events. Tasked with providing excellent customer service and preparing event venues, our service team helps keep our clients happy, well-fed, and coming back to us. Servers are expected to know and display the Peake Core Values.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Works under the direction of the Event Supervisor to execute food and beverage service, set-up and tear-down of event spaces, and the packing and unloading of vans, equipment and food/beverage product
- Assist with a variety of tasks related to event services including but not limited to: serving plated meals, passing canapes, setting up stations, serving and replenishing buffet lines, ticket sales, and operating coat checks
- Communicates with guests at events to ensure Peake standards and client expectations are being met or exceeded. Communicates issues to the Event Supervisor
- Knows the menu for the event and is able to answer questions related to dietary needs, ingredients, etc
- Shows up ready to work and in proper attire

*Tasks outside of those outlined in the job description may be required during times of increased demand*

**Education, skills and qualifications**
- Previous experience in similar catering or restaurant businesses with stable work history
- Serving-it-right (required)
- First Aid certification (a positive)
- Strong knowledge of hygiene procedures (HACCP)
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- General maths skills

**Ongoing Expectations and Physical/Mental Demands**
- This role will require lifting of supplies, equipment, and product
- This position requires long periods of standing and moving
- Immediate environment will frequently be noisy and busy
- Ongoing exposure to normal kitchen and event hazards (ovens, sharp objects, slippery surfaces)
- Frequent tight deadlines and turn arounds
- Variable hours and shift lengths. Various venues across Metro Vancouver

Note: we cannot guarantee a set number of hours per week/month. Event staffing is done based on business levels.
