**Event Staff - Servers (Food and Beverage) and Bartenders**

$22-$24/hour depending on experience (servers)

$26/ hour depending on experience (full bartenders)
- Staff meal provided on every shift.

**Job Overview**

Our event servers and bartenders are the face of Peake at catered events. Whether it's an elegant plated dinner or a lively cocktail reception, you're helping set the tone with warm, professional service. Working closely with our Event Supervisors, you'll ensure everything runs smoothly - from venue setup to food & beverage service and clean-up. Servers are expected to know and display the Peake Core Values.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Follow direction from the Event Supervisor to execute event setup, service, tear-down, and loading/unloading of vans and equipment.
- Assist with a variety of tasks related to event services including but not limited to: serving plated meals, passing canapes, setting up stations, serving and replenishing buffet lines, ticket sales, and operating coat checks.
- Communicate with guests and ensure top-tier service.
- Be familiar with the event menu, including dietary accommodations and ingredients.
- Show up on time, dressed appropriately and ready to work.

Note: Duties may vary depending on event needs and may include additional tasks during peak times.

**Education, skills and qualifications**
- Previous experience in catering or restaurant service preferred.
- Serving-it-right (required).
- First Aid certification (an asset).
- Drivers License (an asset).
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene procedures (HACCP)
- Professional appearance and demeanor

**Ongoing Expectations and Physical/Mental Demands**
- This role will require lifting of supplies, equipment, and product.
- This position requires long periods of standing and moving.
- Immediate environment will frequently be noisy and busy.
- Ongoing exposure to normal kitchen and event hazards (ovens, sharp objects, slippery surfaces).
- Frequent tight deadlines and turn arounds.
- Variable hours and shift lengths. Various venues across Metro Vancouver.
