**Opportunity**:
MacEwan University is seeking a Student Assistant, Welcome Centre, for a casual opportunity with our Student Life department. You will support the daily operations and procedures of the Welcome Centre and Student Life Office by creating a positive, welcoming, and informative experience for individuals visiting the University. As the first point of contact, you will assist visitors and serve as the information hub for stakeholders. This position is key to fostering a culture of exceptional customer service and enhancing the overall educational experience for both prospective and current students. This is a part-time 15-hour-per-week role that will run until March 30, 2025, with the potential to continue from April to August at full-time hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Greeting visitors, future and current students at MacEwan University and connecting them with the appropriate support services, executive offices, schools, faculties, and departments;
- Assisting with the coordination and the scheduling of campus tours, including working with the MacEwan Tour Guides, MacEwan Ambassadors, and conducting campus tours when required;
- Assisting with the recruitment, training, and coordination of Campus Tour Guide Program and other student leaders;
- Assisting with basic graphic design projects using Canva; and
- Providing administrative support to other Student Life events and initiatives.
**SKILLS**:
You will have:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent organizational skills; and
- Demonstrated leadership, strong problem-solving skills, and professionalism.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- You must be a current MacEwan student entering your second or subsequent year; students outside of MacEwan will not be considered.
- Experience in public speaking would be considered an asset.
- Technological competencies in Google documents, social media and Canva would be essential.
- Experience as a MacEwan University student leader is beneficial.
