Edmonton, Canada NAIT Full time

**Position Description/ Area Description**

NAIT is seeking a highly motivated, and experienced Manager to lead the Mawji Centre for New Venture and Student Entrepreneurship (Mawji Centre). As one of Alberta’s leading and most active student-facing entrepreneurship centres, the Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students from all programs across NAIT. The manager will be responsible for leading a team of staff and volunteers to provide programming, supports and opportunities for students to engage in and pursue their business ideas. With a polytechnic lens, this position is also very much a “hands-on” leadership role where you will connect with student entrepreneurs with their progress. If you have a passion for entrepreneurship, proven track record of leadership, and the ability to develop and implement strategies to support student-led ventures, we want to hear from you.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership in developing, supervising and implementing programs, events, systems and value-added services to existing NAIT students (40%). This includes planning and setting benchmarks for the Mawji Centre, leading a team of staff and volunteers, and managing budgets for effective and efficient operations.
Implement Mawji Centre strategies (40%). While a leader in this area, the role is actively involved and works alongside staff and volunteers to implement plans and activities for students. This may include speaker events, competitions, showcases, mentorships, or any other activities that the Mawji Centre manages.
- Promotion of the Mawji Centre to effectively meet its goals and objectives (20%). This role is expected to foster, manage and grow relationships with students, NAIT program areas, key donor/funder community, and with the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem. This includes working closely with the other schools within NAIT, other post-secondaries and external partners to collaborate, develop and deploy programs and events focused on the needs of students.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for many different contexts and audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and time management.
- General principles of leadership including managing staff and volunteers.
- Principles of mentorship.
- Awareness of education strategies when building programming.
- General understanding of event and program management.
- Program evaluation methods (including data analysis and quality assurance).

**Qualifications**:

- Personal experience in entrepreneurship and/or connections with Edmonton’s entrepreneurial community is considered an asset.

**Remuneration**: $3,281.61 - $4,347.73 biweekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

**Please submit a resume and Cover Letter to be considered for this opportunity.**

Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
