**About the role**

As a Policy and Research Analyst, you will conduct proactive financial sector and economic research and assess the impact on CDIC’s mandate, its member institutions and the deposit insurance framework.

- Ability to assess and synthesize complex information and identify policy implications for CDIC mandate.
- Ability to undertake thorough analysis and provide sound arguments to support policy development and recommendations for management.
- Ability to communicate complex information verbally and in writing.
- Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and timelines and adjust work style and output accordingly.
- Ability to work independently and be able to exercise judgment.
- Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills to interact with team members, other CDIC groups, as well as other financial safety-net players.
- Intellectual curiosity to remain current with developments in the financial sector and seek answers, including identifying potential areas for further research and analysis.

**We trust you will bring your expertise**
- A Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, public administration, or a degree in law.
- Experience with policy analysis and policy development would be an asset.
- The Canadian financial sector, including the mandates and responsibilities of the financial safety-net agencies.
- Major policy and regulatory issues in the financial sector.
- General trends and challenges in the financial sector.
- International organizations such as the Financial Stability Board, the International Association of Deposit Insurers, and the Basel Committee of Banking Supervision will be considered an asset.
