**SCOPE**:
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting the ONWA’s networks, security and VoIP phone system. The Systems Administrator will maintain the essentials, such as company servers (active directory), networks, routers, firewalls, phone systems and data backups. They will communicate technical concerns and solutions to many people with varying degrees of technical knowledge, as well as work with individuals in all departments to help solve their technical issues. The Systems Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware, servers and networks.

The goal of the Systems Administrator will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- 3-5 years of network administration, or system administration experience
- Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft, Cisco, and CompTIA are preferred, but not required
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Experience implementing and supporting VoIP solutions
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude. Willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion
- Analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions
- Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments with technical problems
- Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to travel.
- Reliable vehicle, appropriate vehicle insurance coverage and valid Ontario “G” class driver’s
- Current, valid vulnerable sector criminal records check.
- A cellular phone and internet access is required within this position
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by the ONWA.
