**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Heavy Equipment Spotter reports to a Lead Hand/Foreman. They are responsible for spotting heavy equipment in a construction environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and supporting the efficient flow of operations.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Working up to** 5 - 6 days a week, 8 - 10 hours a day.**:

- Perform miscellaneous laboring activities to support the installation of underground utilities.
- Safely spot heavy equipment, including excavators, backhoes, loaders, and skid steers in various outdoor construction settings.
- Communicate effectively with equipment operators to guide them safely through work areas.
- Maintain clear communication with the construction team to coordinate movements and ensure efficient workflow.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, prioritizing the safety of yourself and your team members at all times.
- Complete ongoing maintenance of work area, trenches and equipment, ensuring clean and safe operations.
- Manual labour tasks to support underground utility installation.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Class 5 Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
- Valid Ground Disturbance - Level 2 is required.
- Ability to lift 75lbs.
- Prior experience in operating heavy equipment is preferred, but not required. A strong desire to pursue a career in equipment operation is essential.
- Understanding of construction site safety practices and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and outdoor environments.
