The junior estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the cost of labor, equipment, and materials for projects. Understanding and preparing take-offs from project drawings. Working with a team to submit bids on time for clients.
**Responsibilities**
- Analyze documents, specifications, proposals, and addendums in preparation for pricing and on-time delivery
- Perform quantity take-offs
- Effective use of estimating software to produce accurate bids (Trimble)
- Develop business relationships with vendors and clients
- Obtain pricing from vendors, suppliers/subcontractors and incorporate it into the estimate
- Accountable for accuracy and completeness of tender submissions
- Track, process, and report estimating department goals, and progress and maintain historical data
- Produce estimates with accurate contingencies
- Maintain estimating workbooks and databases
Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in the construction industry or some relevant experience in a similar role is preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and a desire for continuous improvement for self and the organization
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Professional designation in engineering is an asset
- Experience working in a very fast-paced, self-directed, and dynamic work environment
- Intermediate understanding of Trimble is an asset
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
