The junior estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the cost of labor, equipment, and materials for projects. Understanding and preparing take-offs from project drawings. Working with a team to submit bids on time for clients.

**Responsibilities**

  • Analyze documents, specifications, proposals, and addendums in preparation for pricing and on-time delivery
  • Perform quantity take-offs
  • Effective use of estimating software to produce accurate bids (Trimble)
  • Develop business relationships with vendors and clients
  • Obtain pricing from vendors, suppliers/subcontractors and incorporate it into the estimate
  • Accountable for accuracy and completeness of tender submissions
  • Track, process, and report estimating department goals, and progress and maintain historical data
  • Produce estimates with accurate contingencies
  • Maintain estimating workbooks and databases

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in the construction industry or some relevant experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and a desire for continuous improvement for self and the organization
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Professional designation in engineering is an asset
  • Experience working in a very fast-paced, self-directed, and dynamic work environment
  • Intermediate understanding of Trimble is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
