**The Organization**
The University Women’s Club of Vancouver (UWCV) was founded in 1907 as a private women’s club. In 1962, it purchased Hycroft, a large Heritage mansion in Shaughnessy, and maintains and operates the property as its clubhouse. Open year-round with a variety of events catering to Members, Guests, and Public, Hycroft is renowned as one of Vancouver's most elegant venues for weddings and social functions.
**The Structure**
The University Women’s Club of Vancouver (UWCV) organization is governed by a Board of Directors and a General Manager (GM) is responsible for Club operations. Working under the direction of the Club’s GM, the F&B Manager will focus on the member/guest experience in all areas of the Club. Works closely with the Catering and Culinary team to assure success in the daily operations of all operational outlets consisting of: Casual Dining, Member Services, Banquets/Catering as well as a full calendar of events. Management of all beverage programs and wine lists. Management of all service staff.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the execution of all day-to-day operations of the F&B department.
- Staffs and formulates the standard operating procedures for all service staff.
- Responsible for ensuring the completion of all opening and closing procedures.
- Responsible for reviewing payroll for Food and Beverage staff.
- Monitors all service staff labor hours to stay in line with monthly budgets for wages.
- Oversees the schedule for Food and Beverage staff.
- Functions as an administrative link between all food and beverage staff and General Manager.
- Recruit, hire, train, motivate and supervise Front of the House service staff.
- Implements training development programs for Front of the House service staff.
- Monitors safety conditions and employee’s conformance with safety procedures.
- Monitors employee dress code.
- Responsible for the continued development of building and sustaining a culture of excellence amongst the staff.
- Receives and resolves complaints from club members, guests, and employees.
- Participates in on-going facility inspections to assure that cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and other standards are consistently reached.
- Interacts with members answering questions, solving problems, overseeing services, taking reservations, and showing the club facilities to visitors.
- Undertakes special projects as requested by the General Manager.
- Creates new beverage and wine programs that will raise the member experience.
- Oversees drink menu updates and creativity of cocktails.
- Assists with the planning of development outlines for applicable staff and its implementation process.
- Administers Food and Beverage Staff reviews at end of season and issue the report to General Manager.
- Manages inventory of all liquor, wine, beer, and beverage at the end of every month.
- Involved in the long and short-term strategic planning for the Food and Beverage Operations.
- Assists General Manager and Executive Chef on new creative ideas on how to improve efficiency throughout the workplace.
- Coordinates with the GM on all staff management and retention, including hiring, on-boarding, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating.
