**The Position**:
We are looking for a **full time, Mental Health and Addiction Systems Navigator**. This position is based on a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with scheduled lunch break.
Reporting to a Director of Community Services, the Systems Navigator will be responsible for the oversight of the program, including service delivery, reporting, and outcomes tracking. The Systems Navigator completes a general assessment of the needs of the young people requiring support, offers their clinical insight, and identifies resource options. The resources and supports identified by the Systems Navigator are specific in nature and individualized. The Systems Navigator follows up with the family in a timely manner as an additional support. The Systems Navigator will help identify other resources and support in the event of changing circumstances or to address accessibility barriers. The Systems Navigator is active within the resource systems in the Calgary and area region participating in collaborations and partnerships with external services.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Support with program administration and development.
- Provide individualized, therapeutic support to families/caregivers accessing service
- Assess and identify mental health and addiction resources specific to the individual needs
- Collaborate with external professionals, individuals, and groups
- Support with tracking data and information related to program outcomes and systems navigation.
- Maintain relevant reports and documentation.
- Support with program development initiatives to enhance services provided.
- Maintain a continuous learning mindset and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
- Participate in committees, communities of practice or other collaborative groups within Hull and in the community
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- A Master’s Degree in the human-services field from a relevant university program preferred
- Eligibility to become a Registered Social Worker or Registered Psychologist and/or clinical designation preferred
- High professional and ethical standards, working in accordance with ethical codes adopted by relevant professions and endorsed by the Agency.
- Experience using a Natural Supports Framework or lens.
- Experience working with youth and young adults with mental health challenges.
- Highly skilled at building therapeutic relationships.
- Related clinical experience providing counselling and strong knowledge in the field of mental health.
- Case management skills and ability to work effectively with multi-system and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong clinical assessment and report writing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Skills in risk assessment and safety planning.
- High level of personal maturity and responsibility; positive, resourceful, self-motivated, persevering, creative and flexible when dealing with change and ambiguity.
- A Police Information Check, which includes a vulnerable sector search, is required (or is in process of being completed) prior to employment.
- A Child Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment.
- Cross cultural competence; knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the recommendations, goals and activities of the commission.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and ability to drive Agency vehicles is preferred (min. 3 years driving experience with a class 5/GDL class 5 license).
- Completion of ASIST, First Aid, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Certified with CYCAA would be considered an asset.
