This role is a full-time position based out of our Mississauga office, reporting directly to the SVP - Estimation, Innovation and Process Optimization. This is an office role with remote being an option and travel may be required. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing estimates for commercial janitorial bids. The goal is to provide the most competitive & detailed costing for bid packages.

Below is an overview of the skills and experience required, as well as the job responsibilities; however, please note that tasks may change from day to day based on business needs.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Involvement in the development and maintenance of estimating templates, tools, and software.
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposal, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements utilizing costing analysis tools.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information in costing tool.
- Coordinate and review estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness with senior team
- Answers questions and provides clarification and updates based on proposal requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and relative cost estimates
- Perform conceptual estimates for budgetary purposes for potential clients.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations for best value solutions.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy and presentation meetings as requested by sales team.
- Upon bid award, assist operations department in scope evaluations and understanding operations solutions.
- Assist operations department in detailing phases of work, man-hours and production units
- Perform periodic reviews of active projects estimated cost vs. actual cost
- Attend site tours & travel as required

- Must have prior experience with Estimating software
- Thoroughness and reliability
- Excellent organizational skills

**Education & Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years extensive estimating experience plus including ability to estimate various types of projects/contracts.
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Familiarity with financial and project management principles
- Proven experience as an estimator in the janitorial industry**, **or similar position
