Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the construction process by accurately assessing project costs and providing detailed estimates. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction estimating, and the ability to effectively negotiate with vendors and subcontractors. The Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers to ensure that all estimates align with project goals and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create accurate pricing models.
  • Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine project requirements and scope.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to refine project budgets and timelines.
  • Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible rates.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders regarding estimates and project costs.
  • Maintain organized records of all estimates, changes, and communications related to pricing.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and pricing changes to ensure competitive estimates.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam or HeavyBid is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.
  • Effective communication skills to present estimates clearly to team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • A background in project management is a plus but not mandatory.
