The Food Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the food products meet standards set by both the company and regulatory authorities. They may develop and review quality and safety policies and manage audits by third-party inspectors. Position: Full-Time, Permanent Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm, occasional weekend audits **Salary**: Starting from $44,000 per year plus performance bonus Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensure food products meet company and regulatory standards.- Develop and review quality/safety policies and manage audits.- Adhere to safe work practices and implement HACCP principles.- Conduct on-floor monitoring (60%) and office work (40%).- Create/update internal policies to meet SQF requirements.- Inspect production lines for compliance.- Assist in employee Food Safety and Quality training.- Return product inspection and credit management.- Collaborate with other departments for compliance.- Address customer complaints promptly.- Perform other required duties. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in science, preferably food or nutrition science.- HACCP certification required.- GFSI certification an asset.- Previous food industry experience, especially in protein- Strong knowledge of analytical principles.- Excellent time management and attention to detail.- Results-oriented and adaptable to changing priorities.- Excellent communication skills.
