Accounts Receivable Lead

Scope
To ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payment collection for all hotel accounts.
**Responsibilities**:
- Accurate and timely invoicing of tours, FITs, conferences and weddings as per contract.
- Ensure the prompt collection of all accounts including advance deposits, cancellations, and prepaid accounts.
- With direction from the Controller, maintain the Aging of Accounts Receivable within expected acceptable levels, utilizing effective collection methods.
- Liaise with Sales & Conferences department on estimated revenues and deposit schedules.
- Participate as the Accounting representative at pre-conference meetings with clients.
- Reconcile specific AR accounts at month-end.
- Train and mentor AR Assistant, providing on-going coaching.
- Contribute to and implement department operational improvement initiatives.
Physical Demands
- Significant sitting and use of a computer and telephone
- Occasional standing and walking
- Occasional bending, reaching above and below shoulder-height
- Occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in accounting
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality/Tourism is an asset
- 1-2 years of experience working in an Accounts Receivable role, ideally within a hotel environment
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Thoughtful and reasonable problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Able to work effectively and efficiently both independently and within a team environment
