We are currently seeking a highly motivated **Lead Hand** to join our Calgary team, with a clear path to growing into a **Supervisor** role.
**Position Overview**:
As a Lead Hand, you will take ownership of daily production operations, leading a dedicated team of pallet builders while ensuring the smooth execution of our processes to meet high standards of quality and safety. This is a key leadership role that provides an excellent opportunity to advance into a Supervisor role as we continue expanding our footprint in Alberta.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead and supervise a team of workers in daily operations, including pallet assembly, repairs, and quality control.
- Oversee production schedules and ensure that targets are met in terms of volume, quality, and efficiency.
- Mentor and train team members, building a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, coordinating with maintenance for timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure proper inventory management of raw materials, tools, and supplies.
- Foster a positive and safe work environment by adhering to and promoting safety standards, with a commitment to minimizing workplace hazards.
- Report on production metrics and progress to upper management, making recommendations for process improvements.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or pallet production environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pallet manufacturing, equipment operation, and related processes.
- Proven track record of leading and motivating teams to meet production goals.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and address production issues.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices within a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Forklift certification is required.
