**Job Overview**

Southcan Electric is seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. In this role, you will not only deliver high-quality electrical services across residential and commercial projects but also take the lead on estimating and project management. From preparing bids and coordinating permits to guiding apprentices and ensuring safety compliance, you’ll play a key role in Southcan Electric’s commitment to quality, safety, and community.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Electrical Installation & Maintenance**
- Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance for residential and commercial projects and services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently and safely.

**Estimating & Project Planning**
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates using **Bluebeam**.
- Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to determine materials, labour, and timelines.
- Collaborate with management and clients during the bid and planning process.

**Project Execution & Leadership**
- Lead projects from planning through completion, coordinating with apprentices, journeypersons, and subcontractors.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specs to define project scope and deliverables.
- Build and maintain project schedules, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
- Track project costs, variations, and provide updates using **SiteDocs** and company procedures.

**Permitting, Compliance & Inspections**
- Manage **city and provincial permitting** processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Schedule and coordinate required **inspections** with local authorities.
- Ensure all work adheres to Manitoba’s electrical code, safety standards, and company policies.

**Procurement & Scheduling**
- Request and compare supplier pricing.
- Order and track materials, ensuring timely delivery to job sites.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, and resources for efficient project execution.

**Supervision & Training**
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior team members.
- Foster a collaborative, safe, and supportive work environment.

**Safety Standards**
- Adhere to Southcan Electric’s safety protocols, Core standards, and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and maintain a safe worksite.

**Customer Service**
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Represent Southcan Electric with professionalism and integrity.

**Qualifications**
- Certified **Journeyman Electrician** in Manitoba.
- Minimum **5 years of residential and commercial experience**, including at least 2 years in estimating or project lead capacity.
- Proficiency with **Bluebeam**, **QuickBooks**, and **SiteDocs** (or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of **city and provincial permitting processes** and inspection requirements.
- Experience with **requesting pricing, ordering materials, and scheduling** resources.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety practices, and project management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

**Additional Requirements**
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required.
- Ability to travel and work out of town on project assignments.
