Position Summary:
Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all expenses and contingencies.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project requirements and develop accurate budget forecasts.
- Implement innovative estimating techniques and software to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and labor rates.
- Mentor and develop junior estimators, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to gather and analyze bids, ensuring all proposals meet project specifications and standards.
- Present and review cost estimates with senior management and clients, providing clear and concise explanations for methodologies used.
- Participate in bid reviews and negotiations, offering strategic insights to improve Iris's competitive position in the market.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial design and build projects.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., OnScreen Takeoff, Bluebeam) and MS Excel
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities, capable of mentoring a team and working collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Winnipeg, MB.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to engage in minor travel as required.
