Shipping Supervisor

**Responsibilities**
- Supervise and lead a team of direct reports to ensure smooth and efficient shipping operations.
- Oversee the planning and coordination of all rail and truck shipments, ensuring timely deliveries of steel products to customers.
- Monitor shipping schedules, ensuring that all shipments are dispatched accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies regarding transportation and shipping, including monthly safety meetings and observations.
- Work closely with other departments, including production, scalehouse, and sales, to ensure customer orders are fulfilled promptly.
- Understanding Bar Mill production for impacts on Shipping.
- Resolve any shipping-related issues, including delays, damages, or discrepancies, to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking information, shipping documentation, and inventory.
- Conduct performance evaluations, training, and development of team members and entering payroll.
- Continuously evaluate and improve shipping processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage employee attendance and performance

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Proven experience in a shipping or logistics supervisory role, ideally within a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of rail and truck transportation logistics.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance standards in shipping operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to organize, set priorities and work to tight deadlines

**Job Details**:

- Monday to Friday schedule, with after hours calls as required
