**Supervisor, Materials and Shipping **to join our team in a temporary 10-month position and support Campbell Scientific now and into the future.

**What You’ll Work On**

The Supervisor, Materials and Shipping is responsible for the purchasing function, processes, and supervision and training of the purchasing staff. These responsibilities include managing continuous improvement projects within the purchasing department, actively contributing to client and manufacturing projects, and supporting the supply chain and procurement needs of all departments. The Supervisor, Materials and Shipping works to oversee and manage supplier relationships, supplier forecasts, and all procurement receiving functions. This role also establishes and executes group KPIs and provides both individual and group coaching and development initiatives to the purchasing team to achieve those KPIs. This position also demonstrates leadership through adherence to our core values and company culture.

**You’ll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks**
- Manage purchasing and receiving of materials
- Work with management, sales, marketing, planning, production, engineering and client project managers to control and manage inventory investment (Right amount of the Right inventory at the Right time)
- Ensure purchasing process execution according to scheduled requirements and in compliance with company policy
- Oversee contractual activities with material suppliers including purchase orders, approval of terms and conditions with suppliers, etc.
- Monitor, measure and report department KPIs, specifically, planned orders not released, on time receipts, supplier quality and purchased inventory reductions
- Analyze market availability for products and components to identify possible stock outs and ensure the supply of critical components, to advise engineering on EOLs
- Partner with stakeholders to identify product and component needs, develop sourcing strategies and lead vendor selection and qualification/assessment, and negotiate effectively to preserve and improve the company position
- Identify potential suppliers for CSC’s new product introductions
- Manage vendor lead time, quality, and factory qualification process
- Find ways to consolidate suppliers and products for the purposes of cost reductions

**What We’re Looking For**
- Related post-secondary diploma or degree (examples: Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, etc)
- Certification and/or experience in project management
- Minimum of 3 years in a Procurement Specialist role (preferably with progressively increasing responsibilities)
- Supervisory/leadership experience - informal experience may be considered provided it can be measured and demonstrated
- Experience in related industry preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position
- Proficiency in the use of ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel is required

**Work Environment**
This role is a “working supervisor” in a light manufacturing and warehousing environment.

Office environment with extended periods of computer use.
