**About Us**:
The Gladstone House is a boutique hotel in Toronto with a dynamic culinary program that supports a bistro and three unique event spaces. We execute multiple events per week—ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale functions—while maintaining a high standard of culinary excellence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

We are currently hiring **Prep and Banquet Cooks** to support both daily production and event execution. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in preparation work, function well in a team, and want to grow within a structured, high-performing kitchen.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accurately prepare and batch recipes for daily service and banquet functions, following established specifications and portioning standards.
- Maintain clear and organized labeling, storage, and rotation of all mise en place according to HACCP and kitchen protocols.
- Execute banquet/event menu items efficiently and with consistency during service or plating windows.
- Collaborate closely with the events team to ensure accurate setup and timely execution of service.
- Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards across prep areas, walk-ins, and storage zones.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries, ensuring quality control and stock rotation.
- Support deep cleaning tasks and ongoing kitchen maintenance to ensure a safe and orderly work environment.
- Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and fellow cooks to ensure smooth daily operations.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in a banquet, hotel, or high-volume prep environment.
- Solid foundation in prep and production techniques, including batch cooking, storage, and handling of proteins, vegetables, sauces, and stocks.
- Strong knife skills and efficient work habits with a focus on accuracy and cleanliness.
- Familiarity with banquet/event execution, including large-batch plating and setup.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and organized with a strong sense of teamwork.
- Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
