Cat Cafe Guest Experience Host

Catoro Cat Cafe in East Vancouver is hiring a **Full-Time Guest Experience Host & Barista**to support our bubble tea cafe, retail space, and Cat Forest — a magical lounge filled with adoptable rescue cats. This role is perfect for someone with a background in **hospitality, tourism, summer camps, or guest services** who thrives in busy, people-centered environments and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and guests alike.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Greet and assist guests in a friendly, engaging way
- Check guests into the Cat Forest and explain the experience
- Answer customer questions and guide them through the adoption process
- Help create great adoption matches and set realistic expectations about cat care
- Speak confidently to guests of all ages, including children
- Take customer orders and prepare high-quality bubble tea drinks
- Brew teas, cook tapioca pearls, and ensure consistent drink quality
- Restock and organize product displays in our retail space
- Accurately handle payments and online order pickups
- Keep the café and kitchen clean and well-organized
- Engage with visitors and provide assistance in shopping for cat food, toys, treats, etc.
- Monitor guests in the Cat Forest and ensure cats are treated respectfully
- Actively engage with visitors and answer questions about the cats
- Follow strict cleaning and disease prevention protocols — this includes **regular litter box duty.**:

- Monitor cat health and behavior, and report concerns to the cat care manager
- Help maintain a calm, safe, and enriching environment for our rescue cats
- Complete opening, closing, and cleaning tasks
- Work on your feet throughout the day and safely lift up to 50 lbs
- Collaborate with coworkers to ensure smooth operations

**Who We’re Looking For**

This job isn’t for everyone It can be physically and emotionally demanding, and we need someone who is reliable, adaptable, and passionate about what we do. Here’s the nuts and bolts of what we need:

- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Holds a valid **Food Safety Certification**:

- **Not allergic to cats** — you’ll be around 30+ daily
- Confident handling cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills — verbal, written, and with groups
- Comfortable doing physical work: lifting, squatting, cleaning, etc.
- Passionate about animal rescue and guest experience
- Understanding that animal rescue can be very emotionally draining and have the skills to cope with sick, injured or unwell animals.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
