**Position Summary**

The Communicative Disorders Assistant position will provide speech language rehabilitation services within the Hospital under the direction of the speech language pathologist [SLP].

The Hospital is currently seeking a Permanent Part-Time Communicative Disorders Assistant to join their healthcare team.

Effective Date: As soon as possible

**Essential Qualifications**
- Current registration and member in good standing of the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada [CDAAC]
- Current membership in professional associations and/or regulatory bodies
- Graduate of approved Communicative Disorders Assistant Program
- Administering screening tests (ie., TOR BSST and Western Battery Aphasia) for Stroke patients as delegated by SLP
- Providing patient education and assisting with other tasks as delegated by a Registered Dietician or Speech and Language Pathologist.
- Preparation of materials and assistance during Modified Barium Swallow Studies
- Hearing aid maintenance and cleaning under supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Minimum two (2) years current experience
- Computer skills are essential (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal and team building skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability network in a fast-paced environment with continually changing priorities
- Demonstrated positive work record and a good attendance record
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

**Hours of Work**

Must be able to work 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the OPSEU Collective Agreement.
