Temporary Full-Time Speech‑Language Pathologist Join Trillium Lakelands District School Board as a temporary full‑time Speech‑Language Pathologist. This position supports schools within the City of Kawartha Lakes area from January 30, 2026 until June 26, 2026. Posting # PSSP‑2025‑12‑15‑025 Location: Lindsay Education Centre (Supporting schools within the City of Kawartha Lakes area) Region: City of Kawartha Lakes Region Salary: $86,722 – $94,401 Position Summary: As a full‑time SLP, you will promote student achievement, equity, and well‑being by conducting speech and language assessments and providing follow‑up services and capacity building for staff. Consult with regular and special education teachers, Specialized Services staff, educational assistants, administrative staff, and parents regarding speech and language programs, resources, accommodations, and modifications for students with communication difficulties. Provide formal and informal assessment and observation of students with communication difficulties involving speaking, listening, reading, or writing. Interpret and discuss assessment results, recommendations, and program modifications with appropriate staff and parents. Provide assessments and programming recommendations for non‑speaking students. Maintain appropriate documentation and records. Act as a resource to the In‑School Team to support a preventative approach through consultation. Collaborate to provide workshops to meet identified needs of School Board staff. Provide clinical supervision of Communication Disorder Assistants. Stay knowledgeable of current tests and measures related to school‑age children and recent developments in programming and interventions for exceptional students. Stay informed about relevant legislation, board procedures related to privacy, duties to report, and the Personal Health Information Protection Act. Responsible for the assessment, analysis, and diagnosis of language disorders. Required Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as an integral member of a team. Consultation experience with a variety of professionals, parents, and community agencies. Familiarity with a wide range of communication and special education programs and services (asset). Prior experience with a CDA and knowledge of AAC (asset). As travel is required, candidates must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology. Registered or eligible to be registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech‑Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). Experience working with school‑aged children (preferred); new graduates welcome. 3‑5 years of Speech‑Language experience in a school board setting (preferred). Experience supporting school‑aged children with a broad range of communication difficulties and neuro‑diversities (asset). Experience writing clinical reports and making evidence‑based recommendations (preferred). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as an integral member of a team. Consultation experience with a variety of professionals, parents, and community agencies. Familiarity with a wide range of communication and special education programs and services (asset). Prior experience with a CDA and knowledge of AAC (asset).
