Our hours of Operation:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 7:30am - 5:00 pm
Wednesday - Saturday: 7:30 am - 9:00 pm
**Responsibilities**:
- Be on time
- Manage day-to-day operations of the cafe.
- Hire and onboard new wait staff and baristas.
- Train employees on drinks preparation and proper use of coffee equipment
- Coordinate with vendors and order supplies, as needed (e.g. takeaway cups, coffee, milk, and other ingredients)
- Maintain updated records of daily, weekly, and monthly revenues and expenses.
- Add new menu items based on seasonality and customers’ preferences.
- Advise staff on the best ways to resolve issues with clients and deliver excellent customer service.
- Ensure all cafe areas are clean and tidy.
- Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation.
- Set up stations and replenish displays neatly, including separation of allergens (nuts, wheat, etc.)
- Ensure all items are dated and follow First in First Out (FIFO) standards.
- Clean and sanitize work areas in accordance with supervising health agency of the area.
- Maintain store stock, including retail items, cups, pastry, and coffee ingredients, etc.
- Care for facility and company assets and machines maintenance.
- Report any issue to the owner in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- **Essential Qualifications**:
- 3+ years of manager experience in a fast-paced café and/or coffee shop.
- Experience as waiter (preferred).
- Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about coffee and a wide variety of drinks preparation and food products.
- Experience with latte art (preferred).
- Experience preparing and serving cocktails.
- Outstanding communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and follow directions for all production.
- High school diploma.
- Be able to serve coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads, gelato, aperitivos and dinner dishes.
- Be able to multitask, take orders/deliver food to tables (if needed) and able to prioritize.
- Food Handlers Certificate (preferred).
- Smart Serve Certificate.
**Job Requirements**
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including early mornings, afternoon, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting.
- Ability to operate equipment such as manual espresso machine, ovens, drink blender, juicer, and Point of Sale.
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in Italian (preferred)
- Neat and clean appearance.
Pay: $17.00-$18.50 per hour
