Assistant Store Manager

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will:
- Assist Store Manager to ensure store operations, profitability and both internal and external service standards expectations are met.
- Coach, inspire, and develop employees following best practices.
- Assist Store Manager to recruit and train new team members seasonally.
- Adjust plans frequently to changing circumstances or directives.
- Ensure excellence in Health and Safety execution and documentation.
- Liaise with corporate staff, outside contractors, and others with professionalism.
- Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse internal and external customers.
**Requirements**:
- Enjoys working outside in all seasons, in all weather conditions, and with a willing and eager demeanour.
- Sales and customer-service focus in fast paced/high volume setting; ability to meet the needs of several customers at once;
- Physically capable of:
- Lifting up to 40 lbs
- Pushing/pulling more than body weight
- Repeated movements
- Bending, crouching, kneeling repeatedly
- Capable of being on your feet for extended periods on concrete floors and in safety footwear
- Able to operate machinery such as forklifts, tractors, and mechanical equipment.
- Able to consistently work a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings. Available for seasonal overtime.
- Uniform required. Must have Green Patch CSA approved safety shoes.

**Professional Qualifications**:
- 2 years management/supervisory experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Live goods industry experience is a strong asset.
- Understanding or exposure to machinery and facility maintenance an asset.
- Preferred post-secondary education in Retail Management, related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
