The Receptionist plays a critical role in ensuring the effective and timely coordination of a high volume of patients as they arrive for their appointments. In order to perform in the job, the receptionist must have a general understanding of the clinical, diagnostic and fertility treatment services offered at the Ottawa Fertility Centre and its staff. These services include in vitro fertilization (IVF), intrauterine insemination (IUI), diagnostic ultrasound, hormone analysis, dispensation of fertility medications, and andrology. The receptionist works closely with a small front office team to deliver these services. The receptionist presents a professional image to the public at all times and finds opportunities for continuous improvement.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Receives patients in a courteous and professional manner
- Scan patient reports and documents into the electronic medical record
- Collecting an relevant fees related to the appointment when the patient has no OHIP, or process medical billing
- Respond to a high volume of patient enquiries over the phone ensuring that their needs are addressed in a timely manner
- Ensuring proper and thorough identification of patients prior to taking any action and protecting confidentiality of patients and their health information

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Completion of two (2) year post-secondary diploma in Medical Office Administration with 6 months of experience, or;
- minimum of 2 years’ experience in a clinic, hospital, or medical environment

- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Ability to work with a team and independently
- Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines
- Strong customer service skills
- Keen attention to detail to provide accuracy and address errors in a professional manner
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organized and efficient
- Ability to work in a fast faced environment
- Oral, written and reading comprehension in French considered an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $21.37-$24.65 per hour

Expected hours: 37.50 per week
