**Location -** This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.

Reporting to the Senior Officer, Student Programs & Services and under the direction of the Associate Dean International (ADI), the International Engagement Specialist is responsible for supporting and implementing work under the Faculty of Arts’ International Strategy. This includes:

- Managing all administrative activities related to the Faculty’s existing relationships with international articulation partners.
- Supporting the ADI related to the development, negotiation, and final approval of new educational partnership agreements.
- Supporting the ADI with administrative activities surrounding the International Summer and Winter Term programs, including supervision of casual labor if applicable.
- Supporting engagement and retention activities for Faculty of Arts International students.
- Promotion and outreach support to international students.

Existing International Agreement Management (20%)
- Manage ongoing relationships with existing partner universities, including overseeing special admission processes for their incoming students, preliminary evaluation of students’ admissibility, and transfer credit assessments.
- Solicit and curate lists of students who come to Faculty of Arts from each articulation program agreement and track their academic performance and educational outcomes.
- Act as the first contact for international partners to respond to any needs/inquiries.
- Help the ADI with hosting on-campus delegations from partner institutions, including the coordination of letters of invitation (when necessary) and creating itineraries/schedules.

New International Agreement Support (25%)
- Work closely with the Associate Dean International on tasks associated with the creation of new international partnership agreements.
- Solicit curriculum/program/course documents from partner institutions.
- Coordinate the transfer credit assessment processes - both internal to the Faculty with relevant departments, and with other Faculties (primarily Science and Business) - to ensure timely responses. Includes all transfer credit assessments are updated in Campus Solutions and the Transfer Credit Guide once completed.

International Summer and Winter Short-term International Program Support (25%)
- Design feedback and evaluation forms, and conduct participant surveys to inform the future improvement of the Summer and Winter programs.
- Collect data related to the summer program to inform decision-making, e.g., number of participants, source institutions, program backgrounds, etc.

International Student Retention & Engagement Support (20%)
- Develop, implement and operate a comprehensive data analytics program, providing data driven intelligence to support Arts International/Faculty strategy, international enrolment and program development.
- Identify and maintain a list of international student ambassadors who can support inclusion initiatives for students from international partner institutions.
- Work with the ADI to develop materials and training sessions for the student ambassadors, in collaboration with other units on campus (International Education and Enrolment Office, Registrar’s Office, Student Union, etc.).
- Communicate with relevant internal units (e.g. USS team, International Education and Enrolment Office, Arts departments) regarding planning and logistics to support international student support initiatives.
- Manage and monitor progress of Arts students registered in the English Language Bridging Program and the Foundation Year program, providing advising and support to these students as they transition into Arts full time. Includes supporting ongoing recruitment & engagement efforts for Foundation Year and the Bridging Program.

Promotion and Outreach Support to ADI (10%)
- Assist the ADI by preparing communication material in support of the Faculty of Arts international strategy, including website content, promotional material, information presentations (PowerPoint, etc.), as requested by the ADI.
- Develop, in collaboration with the International Education and Enrolment Office and the Arts Communications team, Faculty of Arts-specific materials in support of the Arts international strategy.
- Post-secondary degree is required (University of Alberta degree from the Faculty of Arts preferred).
