**Salary**:$2,757.39 to 3,604.17 bi-weekly ($71,968 - $94,069/year)

Public Safety and Emergency Services - responsible for keeping communities safe and secure, upholding a fair and accessible justice system, and ensuring Alberta is prepared for and resilient to the impacts of disasters by working with our partners in law enforcement, justice, health, and social services.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- We are seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Specialist who is passionate about people and results - and displays a keen understanding of how projects are managed (beginning to end); has excellent written and verbal skills; is able to form connections with other teams/divisions and community partners throughout the province; and is able to design/deliver various forms of engagement using best practices and those prescribed by the Government of Alberta (i.e., strategic engagement plans).

Reporting to the Manager, Community and Stakeholder Engagement within the Strategic Policy and Planning branch, you will liaise with staff in PSES and other ministries (as needed) to design and develop engagement products, tools, and services for engaging internal and external stakeholders on public safety matters - and for coordinating and project managing those engagements, including evaluation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Designing and delivering various forms of virtual/ in-person stakeholder engagements using best/promising practices and those prescribed by the Government of Alberta
- Coordinating and tracking the progress of stakeholder engagements and communicating the results
- Providing secretariat support for the Public Security Indigenous Advisory Committee.
- Supporting employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion

There are times in which the Specialist will also be responsible for booking venues, taking meeting notes, arranging transport and other coordination tasks.

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:

- University degree in Communications, Social Sciences, Business, Administration or any other related field, PLUS a minimum of 4 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, project management, and/or policy development and research.

**Equivalency**:

- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: - 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or - 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

**Assets**:

- Experience using engagement to inform policies, programs, and services in a politically sensitive environment.
- Experience with various engagement tools and approaches
- Ability to analyze, synthesize and disseminate information for varying audiences
- Experience preparing policy documents, reports, briefings and/or presentations providing recommendations to senior leadership.
- Experience planning and leading projects
