Harvard Diversified Enterprises Inc. requires an experienced Accounting and Finance Professional. This position will assume a strategic role in the overall financial management of Harvard Diversified’ Corporate and Confidential Family operations throughout Canada and the USA.
The experienced professional will possess the ability to maintain positive, mutually beneficial working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the COO, the role will be directly responsible for the financial reporting, accounting, tax compliance and planning, financing, forecasting, banking, and deal analysis.
**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Oversee all financial processes and policies which include accounting and payroll systems, internal controls and systems procedures, and cash flow management.
- Oversee the Treasury functions and administration
- Prepare and analyze project valuations, tax strategies and proforma for merger and acquisition activities.
- Oversee the technological transformation.
- Liaise and manage relationships with business partners, accounting firms, law firms, and financial institutions.
- Oversee accounting records and documentation, including review of bank reconciliations, intercompany accounts, payroll, accounts receivable and payable subledgers, weekly cheque runs, and GST filings.
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of annual financial reporting requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and planning of confidential family tax returns.
- Oversee the preparation of year-end working paper files and financial statements, tax returns and communications with external accountants.

**Preference will be given to individuals who possess**:

- Post-secondary degree and/or professional designation in Finance or Accounting is required.
- CPA designation is an asset.
- 5 - 10 + years of progressive financial responsibility in related industry is ideal.
- Ability to meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- Multitasker with experience working with multiple entities.
- A understanding of the federal regulations (CRTC) and (OSFI) would be an asset however not a necessity
- Effective communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
- Ability to adapt nimbly and operate as an effective, tactical, and strategic thinker.
- Professional, organized, results driven and thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
- A change agent
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
