**S2526-09 Child Development Counselor - Cold Lake Region**

**Northern Lights Public Schools is seeking a Temporary Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Child Development Counselor for the Cold Lake Region.** The**Child Development Counselor will serve as part of the Student Support Services Team. The successful applicant will work proactively to enhance student well-being, resiliency, and academic success by providing direct support, assisting in the development of programs, and connecting students and families with appropriate resources.

**Duties of the**Child Development Counselor** will include**:

- Work within a designated region and/or across regions to provide support
- Work in collaboration with the Divisional team and under the direction of a Principal
- Work independently with students or in the classroom
- Work with a particular student or a group of students within the class or in a specialized program
- Provide programming assistance to students with social and/or behavioral needs
- Travel to and work with multiple schools and school settings within a specified area

**Preference will be given to applicants who have**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is considered an asset
- Between 1-3 years supporting youth in an inclusive education setting is considered an asset
- An equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Valid drivers license
